Barich in Favor of Recall – As Long As It’s Not Him

George Barich’s answer to the recall petition states that he has done nothing illegal and therefore shouldn’t be recalled. Yet in 2000 he actively supported a recall effort against Council Members Richard Cullinen and Harold Berkemeier primarily because they didn’t agree with Barich’s preferred choice as Mayor and appointed Geoff Fox instead. According to the March 22, 2000 Minutes of the City Council Meeting:

“George Barich, 176 W. Cotati Oaks Ct., was supportive of the recall campaign and mentioned allegations against certain Councilmembers.” Read more

In November 2008 George Barich was elected by a slim 5 votes margin after running a disingenuous campaign in which he hid the truth about his background and his extremist views. As soon as he got into office Barich:

● Forged City Letterhead And Wrote To Obama Saying Cotati Doesn’t Need Federal Money!

● Caused The Council To Impose A Code of Conduct For the First Time In 50 Years!

● Linked an Offensive Blackface Photo Of Himself On the City’s Website

● Overused & Abused City Staff & Attorney Time To The Tune Of $28,000 In Only 3 Months - a number that has since grown substantially

Barich has so alienated his fellow Council members as to be politically ineffective and nothing but a hindrance to getting City Business done- with illogical, grandstanding speeches of 12 minutes or more. His public statements and votes have also shown that he is:

AGAINST - Accepting Federal Stimulus Money   ●   AGAINST – Accepting Grants for Cotati Street Repairs
AGAINST - The City’s Code of Ethics   ●   AGAINST - Voluntary Water Conservation Guidelines
AGAINST - Letting Citizens Vote On Fiscal Solutions that Have Helped Towns Like Sebastapol

VOTE Yes on Recall – Election Set for November 17

Statistically it is close to impossible for Barich to overcome this grassroots movement to restore integrity to city government.

Save Cotati from 3 ½ More Years Of Barich’s Outrageous Behavior & Bad Judgment!
